The Vacqueyras appellation takes its name from the Latin Vallea Quadreria: the Valley of stones - cairo meaning stone in Provençal. This new Cuvée Spéciale created from the 2019 vintage following the acquisition by Caroline and Véronique of a new plot situated in “Cabane” lieu-dit on more than 1 hectare 50.

This 50-year-old vineyard takes root in sandy clay soils. Rigorous bud pruning. Furthermore, green harvesting and leaf thinning are done. The picking is entirely by hand, with sorting in the vineyard and again in the cellar.

Harvesting is done manually with a rigorous double sorting in the vineyard and in the cellar. De-stemming at 80%. Vinification of Grenache and other grape varieties together, in a frustoconical wooden vats Maceration lasts approximately 4 to 6 weeks, daily pumping over, load shedding or trapping. The malolactic fermentation takes place in half-muids.
