Compact site over in the Almaden Valley benchland. About 35 rows of vines on roughly 1 acre. Very well attended to, clean rows, no weeds and lots of bird netting. Nothing but first crop fruit, due to meticulous vineyard management, zero second or third crop hanging, all of it dropped. Has irrigation if needed, but generally doesn’t need it. They planted the vineyard in 2005. This wine is gonna age for 10+ years with grace. It’s for those that don’t want Cab to taste like “modern Cab”, but for those that appreciate elegance and age-worthiness. I’m keeping a stash of this pure Cabernet Sauvignon behind for myself because I won’t be afraid to drink it in the next decade.
