Per Caso’s “Rhône-style” blend, RHN, is produced from two GSM varieties, Syrah and Grenache with a splash of Zinfandel to pay homage to Paso Robles’ heritage grape and bring a little more fruit into the blend. This wine is a shining example of what we all expect from Rhone blends coming from the Westside of Paso Robles.

This Syrah dominant blend, has a complex nose of rich blackberry, elderberry and a touch of sandalwood that pair nicely with aged cheeses and charcuterie. This wine is full-bodied with balanced acidity delivering flavors of warm berry compote, dark cherry and hints of vanilla from twenty-four months of barrel aging. The finish exhibits a pleasant array of warm spices, including white pepper, coriander, Tahitian vanilla bean backed by firm tannins.

Recommended food pairing for this Rhône style blend, roasted, grilled and smoked meats, charcuterie, aged gouda, mahon, and pecorino toscano.

Each varietal is fermented separately in stainless steel tanks. Frequent punch-downs and pump-overs of the fermenting must are performed daily until reaching total dryness. Aging takes place in French barriques for 24 months prior to blending and bottling. The wine is then bottle aged for an additional year prior to release.
